Heracross is a Grass type EX Pokemon with 170hp, a three retreat cost, and a weakness to fire Pokemon. Herocross has two attacks: Guard Press, does 40 damage and any damage done to this Pokemon by attacks is reduced by 20. Giga Power does a base of 80 damage but has the possiblity of doing another 40 damage if you so choose, but with the damage increase you do 20 damage to yourself (which might hurt if you are planning to use Mega Heracross as well).
Involving this Card
Heracross is a good Grass type EX that can be easily powered up with Virizion EX. I can see this card having some use in tier 2 decks, along with Mega Heracross EX. However Mega Heracross's lone attack Big Bang Horn isn't exactly the best move. Big Bang Horn has an incredible base damage at 180, which would knock out any EX. Big Bang Horn has a side effect though, losing 10 damage per damage counter is very costly. If you put enough damage counters on Mega Heracross it will do no damage at all. A counter to the loss of damage would be the Herbal Energy card from Furious Fists. Herbal Energy heals 30 damage from a Grass Pokemon.
Overall Rating
From a 1-10 scale, I would rate this card at 6. Heracross isn't that great of a card, and the Mega evolution makes this card even worse. The upside to the Heracross and Mega Heracross is that if you get it out and powered up quickly it can take care of all of your opponents Pokemon.
Actually I would give this card an 8, powered up with Virizion EX, along with Dusknoir(FF) you can remove damage counters from Mega Heracross EX then using a Max Potion, Pokemon Center Lady, Gold Potion, Super Potion, ect) you can make him more playable. You could also use Dusknoir from BCR / PLB to move damage counters around from Virizion's attack so you can do some later damage if you cant OHKO with Mega Heracross. So think of Virizion EX/Dusknoir(FF & BCR), Mega Heracross deck . Thats what I would use to make him more playable ~ The Cynn
I do agree that Dusknoir from Flash Fire would remove damage effectively. But the fact that you need to wait a turn to attack is costly as well as having to constantly heal your Mega Heracross. Sooner or later it becomes too many cards to only promote one card, when you could have other cards in their that would work better than Mega Heracross. You do bring up good points, Mega Heracross is much more playable than I initially thought.
